Advent Auction for The Salvation Army

Life is Art´s first Advent-auction offered three beautiful cards by African artist Oduya O. Alfred. The cards were 10 x 18 cm. To mark the upcoming holidays, the winner of the auction also get a crocheted Norwegian Tuftekall by Annailo along with the cards.

38 GBP was donated to The Salvation Army and their important worldwide work to help the less fortunate during the holidays.

East Africa Food Crisis

Anny Langer and Annailo  donated two photos for an auction to rise money for the urgent East Africa Food Crisis. The final bid was 17.5 $, and the amount (+ additionally 82.5 $ – that was generously donated by the winning bidder), was transferred to Save the Children´s East Africa fund.

Charity Auction for Japan – part II

Three photographs by three of our Life is Art-artists raised 51 $ to Save the Children´s Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.We received additionally 61 $ from an anonymous giver, which was donated to Save the Children along with the proceeds from the auction.

Charity Auction for Japan

Four photographs from three profound artists raised 41$  to Save the Children and their effort to help the suffering children in Japan. Save the Children estimates that at least 100,000 children have been affected by the disasters; many of whom have suffered profound losses.

Anny Langer´s art book “Far away yet close“.

The book contains photographs and poems in both Norwegian, German and English, and is signed by the artist.

The book is the closure of a personal process there Langer got to know her artistically expression. At the same time she put her roots solid down in Norway, something her poetic universe of pictures and words give a dreamy and lively insight in.

”I’m writing the poems in English, Norwegian or German. The most I’ m writing in Norwegian which is my main language, but sometime I feel it’s easier to express my thoughts in English and German. That’s connected with the situation the poems get written in. You can say that all three languages are a natural part of me and the way to express me” the artist tells.

The winner bid was 26$, and the winner of the bidding round donated additionally 34$ to Life is Art. The money was donated to UNICEF.
